PResS is run by Simone Apel, a Masters-trained information professional with over 17 years experience of research. Simone has spent much of that time in the industries of publishing and education, including full time posts working for the publishers Octopus Books & Reed Elsevier and the University of Buckingham.
PResS was set up as a commercial information service for publishers in 1997, intially based at the University of Buckingham.
From June 2001 Simone has run the service independently and her range of services, and client base, is continuing to grow and expand. Since 1997, she has supported not only book publishers, but also university staff, the press and other media, businesses and writers with their research.
From 1998 PResS became involved in training and consequently trained editors, publishing staff, students, teachers, university staff and business people how to research on the Web effectively & professionally.
PResS now has clients on nearly every continent - the U.S., Asia, Australia and Europe. We continue to add and modify services to fit in with the ever-changing publishing industry. We always welcome feedback from current clients and enquiries from the media industry or anyone who is involved in research.
