About PResS

“Fast, accurate, an invaluable part of our editorial process”
Editor at Harcourt Education.

Publisher’s Research Services (PResS) has provided an excellent desk research and factual consultancy service to educational publishers, editors, authors and journalists for nearly 15 years. Devoted to ensuring factually accurate and quality content for books (non-fiction and fiction) and other literary forms, PResS prides itself on a meticulous, reliable and personal service, a fair price and a wealth of fastidious experience!

PResS is run by Simone Apel, a qualified information professional, who has dedicated her career to supporting authors, editors and educational book publishers with writing quality texts. After 7 years working for a major international publishing company (and a Masters Degree in Information Science), Simone was involved in setting up a commercial desk research service, based at the University of Buckingham, specifically for book publishers. In 2001 PResS was born, one of the first services in the UK to devote itself predominantly to factual accuracy and the first, also, to train editors and authors how to research for factually accurate book content.

Over the years PResS has been involved in the editorial of hundreds of educational, school and library non-fiction titles plus many other genres and has worked with publishers in the U.K., the U.S. and Australia, including Heinemann Library, Raintree, Oxford University Press, Macmillan and Pearson.
